A good succinct summary of the meaning of the salient christological titles that appear in the Gospels and earlier NT writings. Though first written in the 70s (when Jesus titles were the main focus of discerning early christology), this is study is useful because of its interaction with a lot of 20th C.

scholarship, and parts a helpful course through much of it. Furthermore, I found many of Marshalls proposals balanced and still relevant, even though the study of early NT christology today is dominated more by narrative analyses of the Gospels than by Jesus titles.

Overall a helpful and insightful read.
