Regrets? Hes had a few... When Jim Grassenger takes stock of his life, he doesnt like what he discovers. In fact, he finds it downright depressing. So, with his son Danny off to college and his mind-numbing job a casualty of studio down-sizing, JimMoreRegrets? Hes had a few... When Jim Grassenger takes stock of his life, he doesnt like what he discovers. In fact, he finds it downright depressing. So, with his son Danny off to college and his mind-numbing job a casualty of studio down-sizing, Jim heads off on a quest.

And not just any quest-he gets it in his pot- and vodka-addled mind to fulfill the lyrics of the Sinatra classic, It Was A Very Good Year. As I listened to the beginning of the song, my mind flitted through all the lyrics that lay ahead-when he was 17, when he was 21, when he was 35... And I thought, Goddammit, thats just the thing! I never had any experiences like those in the song, never a summer spent nailing a series of 17-year-old chicks, thats for sure, or any of the other stuff. I had done nothing, not when I was 17 or 21 or 35 or any other time. I had zero romantic intrigues to reminisce about.

Determined to sow the oats that he had neglected to sow when he was younger, Jim sets out in his gas-guzzling SUV essentially to effect a do-over. Along the way, Jim reminisces, rants, and rages in a wry and mordant take on growing older, depression, the anxieties of parenting, the Empty Nest Syndrome, the simplicityty of a well-crafted lyric, and all the other footstools he has stumbled over in his admittedly effed-up life.
